A Bit About
Me |
|
 |
I
was born and raised in NYC, on the island of Manhattan. I went to
grade school on the upper west side. I attended High school in the
Bronx and college at Fordham University at Lincoln Center. And even
though I left "the city" behind decades ago, you can,
on occasions, still here it in my voice.
From childhood
I have had a passion for "creating". And so after graduating
from Fordham, I began a career as a Theatrical Costume Designer.
I spent 25, fulfilling and successful, years in the "business",
designing costumes for a wide range of theatres (ie ..Counterpoint
Thr. in NYC, Delaware Thr. Co. in Wilmington), universities (ie
...Fordham University, Creighton University), and amusement parks
(ie ..Busch Gardens, Williamsburg, VA) throughout the United States.
I even owned and operated my own costume company for about 5 years.
One of our biggest clients was Royal Caribbean Cruise lines.
In 1995,
with 2 daughters about to enter adolescence, a safe and secure environment
was sought. We packed up everything, including the 2 cats and a
dog in our South Florida home and moved to Omaha, Nebraska. We've
been here ever since. |
|
In 2003, I retired
from Costume Designing. I had come to the realization that the core
of my creative passion lay in painting. And I wanted to be able
to devote more time to it. With my then recent marriage to and support
of, a wonderful man, we created my first dedicated (and beautiful)
studio space. It's been a wonderful place in which to channel my
creative energy into my art. |
|
My inspiration
for my art comes from many places: my own journey through life;
the awe-inspiring beauty of nature; my personal spirituality; suggestions
from family and friends; my sense of humor etc..... Some artists
that have had an influence on my style and genre, and those that
I admire most, are: Norman Rockwell, Alphonse Mucha, Adolphe Bouguereau,
Maxfield Parrish, J.W. Waterhouse and John Singer Sargent to name
a few. |
 |
When I'm not painting
or sketching or keeping this website functioning, I do have a hobby
or two. The biggest of which is riding my motorcycle with my husband
and our biker friends. It's wonderful to be out on the open road
with no particular place to go. Just the sun and the wind and the
road.
In
conclusion, I hope that my work can bring to all of you some of
the joy that it has imparted to me over my lifetime. And if it should,
by some chance, help you along in your life's journey, then I am
most honored and pleased. |

With Bright Blessings to all,
Teri Rosario
