The Gatekeeper
 

I think I was in the middle of reading a wonderfully trashy, historical romance novel, when the concept for this piece started to formulate.

She's a combination of the Goddess Brighid, the medieval castles' "Keeper of the Keys" personage, and the supposedly mythical female warrior.

She is also my celebration of and tribute to single mothers everywhere.
