This
is a very early work of mine. It's done in guache, which
is a very opaque version of watercolor. It is one of
only a few pieces that I created in this medium. It
was the first step in my migration to oils.
Even though
she resembles an Angel, my initial concept was that
of a bird, which is why her arms have become wings.
Traditionally Angels have wings placed on their backs
in addition to arms.

This
is one of those paintings that I just can't part with.
It's
not one of my best works, but it holds lots of emotional
meaning for me.
